fruits and vegetables

Our Friend Ann From DietReviewsGuru shares with us Top Ten List For great health for guys and girls!

You know fruits and vegetables are good for you. They are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help fight disease and promote health.

But how do you add them to your diet so you get enough of them? And... which ones are the best?

All veggies and fruits are good for you, but the following list pack a huge nutritional punch. They are easy to find at the grocery, and they are delicious.

Top Ten List

Blueberries

Blueberries contain the most antioxidants of any fruit. They're high in soluble fiber which helps you feel full longer. Blueberries provide Vitamin C, Folate and Potassium, so pack a few in a ziploc bag and take them with you.

Mangos

Mangos give you that powerful Vitamin C punch! They also contain cartenoids which fight disease. Mangos are also packed with Vitamin A, Potassium, Fibre, and Folate. They're sweet and delicious and can help curb those sweet cravings!

Oranges

One medium orange provides the daily requirement for Vitamin C. They also provide Potassium, Folate and Fibre.

Apricots

Apricots are loaded with beta-carotene and three apricots are only fifty calories. The also provide Fibre and Potassium, and dried apricots are an excellent source of iron.

Cantaloupe

Cantaloupe is my favorite melon, it's mouth-watering and delicious and loaded with Vitamin A. Vitamin A prevents infections, improves night vision, and improves and maintains healthy hair, skin, and bones. It also provides Vitamin C, Potassium, and Folate.

Spinach

Before you roll your eyes and turn your nose up... ;-) Spinach is a powerhouse vegetable! It's a major source of beta-carotene which helps prevewnt heart disease, some cancers, and it helps slow the aging process. Add one cup to you salad and it will give you Potassium, Folate, Viatmin C, and fibre - and that's only 12 calories.

Sweet potatoes

Sweet potatoes supply beta-carotene, Vitamin C, Folate, Potassium, and Fibre. They are delicious and you can prepare them so many different ways. Try a sweet potato instead of a white potato for a change.

Red peppers

Red peppers are loaded with antioxidants that fight disease as well as Vitamin C. They provide more Vitamin C than an orange. They add a great taste to many recipes!

Carrots

Carrots are packed with Vitamin A. Vitamin A fights infection as well as maintains healthy skin and hair.

Broccoli

Broccoli is nutrient dense and it's low in calories, one cup is only 45 calories. It contains Vitamins C, K, A, B6, B2, E, B1, B3, B5, Folate, Manganese, Fiber, Tryptohphan, Potassium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Protein, Omega 3 fatty acids, Iron, Calcium, and Zinc.

Vegetables and Fruits are all excellent resources for vitamins, antioxidants, and more. Try a variety and try some new ones you haven't eaten before. They are the best natural source for the nutrients your body requires.
