In our recent chat with Lisy of Virtual Hairdos For Less A website By a 16 year old Teen For Teens! We asked Lisy to tell us what some of her favorite teen beauty secrets and tips are and what she hopes to accomplish with her site!
Meet Lisy!
When I was very young, my mom who was a “seasoned” Image Consultant in Connecticut, had purchased a software about virtual hairstyles to help her clients find a perfect hairstyle for their face shape. She was having difficulty in using it so she jokingly asked me to help her. To her surprise I was a natural at it. From that moment on she made me a technician for the hairstyle portion of her image consultations. I was thrilled to have become a part of the world that had shaped me since my inception. I had heard image enhancement since I was in my mom’s womb and I had been held by her clients throughout my childhood years. Her clients would look so pretty when done and would leave feeling so good about themselves!! It was awesome to see all of that! Which lead me to build my own website .Virtual Hair Dos For Less

Lisy's Makeup Tips
How To Apply Mascara: 1. Hold wand vertically and apply mascara to a few lashes at a time, starting at the inner corner of the upper lid. Brush lashes from base to tip. Allow first coat to dry. Repeat. 2. Quickly remove any smudges with a cotton swab. 3. Hold a folded piece of tissue under your lower lashes and apply a small amount of mascara to the individual lashes. Separate lashes with lash brush or comb.
Basic make up application: Always begin your make up routine by cleansing, toning, and moisturizing your skin. Make up applied to skin that isn’t clean looks stale and uneven, and more seriously, it may clog your pores! If your complexion is uneven, you need to start with the “base” which is foundation. If you have darkness under your eyes you need a concealing cream.
*Favorite Tools* To start a make-up application you need: sponges and/or natural cotton pads, a pair of good quality tweezers, eye shadow brushes, and a good quality brush to apply the blush. REMEMBER, when buying brushes, quality counts! Cheap brushes can irritate your skin and can cause acne!! Keep the brushes and sponges clean by washing them in a mild soap solution, rinsing well and once dry, store them in a place away from dust
Lisy's Goals
What I like to accomplish through this site is: to offer a “CLEAN”, fashionable, content filled Teen Center where Teens can Blog, and be able to feel connected. It is hard to develop self-confidence, style and good values if we rely ONLY on the media. The media only gives information that they think teens want! Here teens are free to express what they really like and dislike. Also, I like to make a stand for human rights and social causes. I believe that if all teens would stand up for whatever cause they feel strongly about, we could change and impact the world! To do that we have to be taught. ….Sadly, though, there are not many good teachers out there (role models).
The goal of this new website is: to RAISE FUNDS AND then DONATE 20% TO CHARITIES & ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT INNER CITIES KIDS. The organization I like to donate is listed in “Teen Power” category of my website, it is called: www.standupforkids.org
