Healthly Tips For A Models Diet
Welcome Back Suzette with more healthy tips for a Models Diet
Improve Your Diet Thru Addition...NOT Subtraction
If you've ever tried to improve your diet, I'm guessing you've said things like:
"I need to stop eating chocolate, cheese, chips, etc."
I have a new proposal.
Focus on what you should eat, not what you shouldn't. By doing so, the stuff you don't want to eat will naturally get pushed aside and get consumed in smaller amounts. I call this improving your diet by addition (vs. subtraction).
You learned to add before you learned to subtract, right? That's because adding is easier!
You should eat a variety of colored fruits and vegetables every day. The rainbow of colors in fruits and vegetables is a reflection of the rainbow of health benefits they provide.
The pigments that make strawberries red are totally different than the pigments that make blueberries blue. These pigments are called phytonutrients, or "plant nutrients," and they have health benefits.
The plant nutrients in each color group are unique to that group. Therefore, in order to get a variety of protective nutrients, you have to eat a variety of colors every day.
Think about the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue (think white too). Strive to get every color, every day. Orange Cheetos and red watermelon bubble gum don't count unfortunately. :(
Wanna participate in a fun activity? Grab some paper, a pen, and crayons/colored pens and come right back. I'll wait....
Welcome back!
On your blank sheet of paper, draw a rainbow.
Make sure you have 5 stripes in the rainbow: red, orange/yellow, green, blue/purple and white.
Now, get a pen and in the red ribbon, write all of the red foods you like to eat or would be willing to try. In the orange/yellow ribbon, write all the orange/yellow foods you like. Do the same for the green, blue/purple and white ribbons of the rainbow.

Your rainbow will serve as a reminder of all the colorful fruits and vegetables you like and are planning to eat more of. Now, hang it on your refrigerator.
Start small if you need to. Maybe you can focus on eating more red foods on Mon, orange/yellow foods on Tues, Green foods on Wed, etc. Wear something red on Monday as a reminder to yourself of what you are trying to achieve. Wear something orange or yellow on Tues, etc.
If you want to take this a step further, keep a running checklist of the colors you eat every day. By the end of one week, you'll start to see trends. When I first did this, I realized I ate plenty of red fruits and vegetables evey day, but barely any orange/yellow ones.
Consider making a game/contest out of it! If you eat every color, every day, you win : __________ (ex: manicure, bubble bath, etc.)
Now, have you thought about chips or chocolate even once in the last few minutes? I bet not! That's the power of improving your models diet via addition!
Have fun with the rainbow!
