Growing up looking through the lens of a camera...
by Mario Oliveto
Since I was young I can remember always being involved with something related to photography. Wether that means being 8 years and helping my aunt edit film or grabbing a camera from an adult and taking headless pictures of the family. As I got older it became time to develop a hobby of some sort. Some people find that their love falls in sports or playing an instrument, for me it was art. While still to this day staying very active with traditional fine arts, i narrowed my love for art down to photography. My first camera was a little sony cyber shot. i don't think I ever put that camera down, constantly annoying everyone around as I took shot after shot. At this time in my life I'm beginning to decide on a career path and a college major choice. Now in my high school years, shooting with a Nikon D50 and working on plenty of projects, i've come a long way from the 8 year old over a light box, or a teen with a sony cyber shot. However i still have an extreme amount to learn, and i am very excited to do so. My goal now is to attend a 4 year collage, majoring in photography, and hope to spend the rest of my life getting out of bed everyday and doing something i love, not just a job to get by with. |
