God's Gift

When I first sound out that I was pregnant, I was advised to have an abortion. I was told there was no way I could carry a baby because I have leaky heart valves and congestive heart failure. My condition was too severe to carry a baby. If I were to continue with the pregnancy, there was a significant chance that one of us (me or the baby) wouldn't make it out alive.
Malikai was born as a preemie. He was 6 weeks early.
We are both alive and very healthy. He is the reason I wake up every morning and his smile brightens up my day.
