Hello Lanee,

I wanted to give you some advice for your daughter and your family. There is a convention that is held at different spots of the US throughout the year. It is called Model Search America. This is such a fun place to start out at. Make it a family vacation. This is a place where you can find out instantly if your daughter is cut out for the modeling adventure. This is how it works. First you go to a local Model Search America model and talent search try out and if you make the cut you will go on to the convention. These are usually held in New York or Columbus Ohio and various other locations. Here is where you will see thousands of people hoping to be future models. The contestant gets a number, goes to various workshops, walks a long runway, talks to different modeling managers and has a photo shoot. This is all in the first day. That same evening MSA representatives host a really nice dance for all of the contestants and their family. The next day is the most important. It is called the call-back day. This is where agents call your child back if they feel that they are modeling material. We were very fortunate and Whitneyshianne had callbacks from almost every agent there. Unfortunately, we could only choose one. I chose the one closest to home. The agency was very good but now that I think about it. I should have never passed up an opportunity to place Whitneyshianne with Ford Modeling Management or Stewart Talent. If I could do it all again, I would have moved. I want to give you a rounded figure of how many folks get called back. Out of the 1500 contestants that were there, I would say that there was a total of 60 callbacks and 19 of those were Whitneyshiannes. Yes some folks were very upset because the convention wasn't free to attend and they were expecting to get called up to see the agents. Parents have to understand that in this business, you have to let your kids be themselves. I have witnessed alot of parents verbally abusing their little kids because the child went up to the agents and acted extremely shy. This is uncalled for and will not get your child any closer to stardum. You have to except rejection and also teach your child that it is perfectly fine. Here's my favorite quote, keep it in mind and pass it on to others. Children are precious gems and it is our responsibility as parents to keep them shiney, critism makes them dull.
